2014 Manitoba Nature Summit Request for Proposals!

  • by

Hello!

The Manitoba Nature Summit would like to invite you to send us your workshop proposals for the 2014 Nature Summit. It will be held September 12, 13 & 14th at Camp Manitou (850 Green Oaks Lane, Headingly, MB).

Our goal is to provide workshops for educators that are hands on and develop concrete skills that they can use to get children outside. Topics can range from birding, fishing, geocaching, art, drama, music to orienteering, outdoor cooking, wild crafting, tree climbing, group games, risk assessment and much more!

While most of our participants work with children between 3-12 years of age we also have participants that work with infants and youth.Workshops are also required to emphasize inclusive practice.

Please specify what age group(s) your workshop is best suited for:

  • Infants (3 – 24 months)
  • Toddlers (12-36 months)
  • Preschool (2-6 years)
  • School-Age (6-12 years)
  • Youth (10-18 years)

Workshop time slots can be your choice of 1.5 hours, 2 hours or full-day (4-5 hours), including hiking time (getting into the woods to your site).

In keeping with the goals of the Manitoba Nature Summit, and the fact that the group is a volunteer run, non-profit organization without consistent funding, preference may be given to workshops that will be facilitated out of doors and facilitators who are willing to accept free registration at the Nature Summit in lieu of an honorarium.

*The Manitoba Nature Summit is an outdoor conference (rain/snow/shine). Indoor time should be limited and power point presentations are discouraged*
