Saturday Keynote Speaker – Jeff Reading – 2016 Manitoba Nature Summit
The Manitoba Nature Summit is excited to announce that Jeff Reading will be the Saturday Morning Keynote Speaker for the 2016 Manitoba Nature Summit!

Jeff’s Keynote Speech will be entitled:
“Environmental education” has been around since the 1970’s and is often described as knowledge and awareness education about the natural world. But has this increased awareness approach to understanding natural systems changed the way people interact with the planet? “Environmental Literacy” is described as both understanding and taking action on that knowledge. This presentation will explore the abilities of an environmentally literate person, the actions associated with knowledge that lead to demonstrating a connections to natural systems.
Jeff Reading, B.A., B.Ed., L.L.B., M.A.
Jeff has worked in education in Toronto and Calgary, holding environmental leadership positions; with the Ministry of Environment in Alberta; and with the City of Calgary.
In addition, Jeff teaches at the University of Calgary and is also the Chair of the Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE), the Vice Chair for the Green Learning Canada Foundation (GLCF), a Board member with the Alberta Clean Tech Industry Alliance (ACTia), and sits of the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation Grant Review Committee.
Jeff has experience in social enterprise development, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, renewable energy solutions, facilitation across a wide range of audiences and topics, environmental business case development, partnership management at the local, national and international level, organizational transformation and change management, environmental and energy literacy, and outdoor education.
